Gifted athlete
May have significant upside

Cons:

Needs to improve his shooting
Prone to hoisting up questionable shots
Not an elite rebounder

Must get stronger

Summary:

Rayan Rupert is an agile, skilled swingman that excels at making hustle plays to help his team on both ends of the floor.  He can ably create his own shot to score off the bounce, and he also will get steals at a high rate.  On the downside, he will need to improve his jump shot, and he can sometimes tend to make bad gambles and be out of position defensively.

He played for New Zealand in the NBL this past season, and Rupert played really well in all three games that he played in the 2022 NBL Blitz. He shot the ball really well in preseason, but he struggled to make shots consistently during the regular season. Rupert is a very talented prospect that could end up being a first round pick in the 2023 draft.
